About Melissa
For 30 years, I have had the privilege of helping families across Greater Lansing and throughout Michigan protect what matters most. Estate planning isn’t just about documents — it’s about peace of mind, making sure your loved ones are cared for, and ensuring your wishes are honored.

Education & Recognition
After graduating from the University of Michigan and earning my J.D. from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where I graduated Cum Laude in the top 7% of my class, I was honored with multiple Certificate of Merit Awards and Honor Scholarships. I also served as Comments Editor of the Cooley Law Review, sharpening the skills I now bring to my clients every day.

Since opening my practice in 1995, I’ve been consistently recognized by the community, including Community Newspaper’s People’s Choice Award for Favorite Attorney — an honor I’ve been proud to receive for over 8 years.
Teaching, Speaking & Professional Involvement
Beyond my law practice, I’ve always believed in sharing knowledge and staying active in the legal community. I spent three years as an adjunct faculty member at Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where I had the privilege of teaching future attorneys. I also enjoy speaking on estate planning for local organizations, churches, credit unions, and businesses — making complex topics easier to understand.

I’m an active member of the State Bar of Michigan, including the Estate & Probate Section, which helps me stay connected to the latest legal updates and best practices for the families I serve.

Family is at the heart of Melissa’s work. Here she is with her husband, Michael, daughter Faith (a nursing student at Grand Valley State University), and son Cameron (a recent University of Michigan Ross School of Business graduate).
